The Tony’s are coming, The Tony’s are coming!
To Be or Not To Be…Award Worthy…That is the Question
Extra, Extra, Read all about It!!!!
While Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike arrived at Breakfast at Tiffany’s, Ann decided to go to The Other Place. In the meantime, on The Trip to Bountiful , Glengarry Glen Ross; our Golden Boy, along with his fellow real-estate partners, listened to the music from Motown. Once they arrived at their Picnic, a sound from the woods caused “Harvey” to leap from his seat and yell: Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf? Not I, said Cyrano de Bergerac, for I have The Big Knife , so Bring It On! That’s no wolf; it’s only a Cat on a Hot Tin Roof! Pippin exclaimed from his “corner of the sky”. If only The Heiress went straight to the Tony’s. Instead, this Lucky Guy was pegged The Anarchist for bringing The Testament of Mary rather than A Christmas Story. When Annie put her Hands on a Hardbody, thinking it wasChaplin, to her surprise it was The Nance in disguise! Tragically, Macbeth was named An Enemy of the Peoplewhen he pulled a Jekyll & Hyde, proclaiming I’ll Eat You Last to the innocent Matilda while she was anxiously trying to solve The Mystery of Edwin Drood. It was also a Scandalous moment when Cinderella put on her Kinky Bootsinstead of the Glass Slippers that her stylist set out for her to wear! As far as Orphans are concerned, now not having to worry about Dead Accounts, she’ll at least Grace The Assembled Parties with her Flawless Makeup! And that was just another night preparing for the Tony’s!
So many questions I have been asked through my thirteen-year tenure as a Makeup Artist, but none have amazed me more than wanting makeup to last an entire day without touch ups. If such a thing existed, then we artists would cease to exist! But, fear not, there are products that last you more than the time it takes to hail a cab on Fifth Avenue at 5:01pm! Most know to what I am referring, especially on a smoldering day in the city. Your twenty-nine minute masterpiece turns into a crime scene investigation in two wags of a tail once the outdoor elements introduce themselves to your face. First of all, opt for cream eyeliners as opposed to pencil; their staying power will outlast any sharpen-able drawing tool. Next, please don’t forget to use an eye shadow base to absorb oils on your lids and enhance the true color of the eye shadows you use. Lip stains with glosses over them last longer and feel smoother than the waxy shaped tube of color. Put your foundation on after you complete your eyes to not only allow room for error and to clean up spillage from your eye makeup application fallout, but to also cool your face one last time in order to extend the duration before a hot flash attempts to ruin your smooth complexion! Going from day to night? Use a softer eyeliner color such as brown or gray versus the harsh definition of black (preferably on one of either the upper or lower lid, depending on the shape and position of your eye), and a brighter, softer lip to get you through the rays of the sunny day-lit event. Boosting it to the next level for a night affair, creating more of a darker, smoky eye and lighter lip, or sharper liquid–like line with a pronounced lip to dazzle in the twilight evening bliss. Lastly, like you would any accessory, your makeup should synchronize with your dress, handbag, and shoes in a harmonious melody; not reverberate an out of tune sour note. Now off we go!
Now, pick your dress, grab your shoes and leave your Hair and Makeup to me; before you end up as one of Joan Rivers’ Road kill moments on Fashion Police! As Giuliana Rancic would say, “If you go through that much trouble to pick out the perfect dress, don’t leave your hair and makeup at the door!” They too are just as important a statement to make. Finding a Hair and Makeup Artist that can properly bring out your features to their finest perfection is just as important as the clothing stylist that finds the dress to hug your curves in just the right places.
Now enter stage left, the curtain rises introducing you to Makeup Artist, Stylist, Special Effects Artist, Cosmetic instructor, and over all Artist in her craft. Needing no further introduction, nor do you need to look any further than a website: ELynnArtistry.com, on this special day, or any thereafter; let her vision be your inspiration!
By allowing my team and me to bring your Hair and Makeup to Center Stage, it will give you the show-stopping presence you deserve! A momentous occasion merits nothing less than Award Worthy Style!
